Volunteering at BUCFP

'volunteers' being press ganged into serviceThe Centre relies on volunteers who run and organise services & work areas and who also manage the Centre itself. At any time, the Centre has up to 250 active volunteers.

There are often opportunities to volunteer in all of the Centre's work areas such as childcare, welfare advice, cooking, office work, temporary housing support, teaching, computer support, maintenance and much more. Volunteers work for the Unemployed Centre for many reasons, often to gain experience and confidence, to undertake further training or simply to help others.

A recent piece of research by Brighton University highlighted the excellence of our volunteering work. More details of the research can be found here.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please telephone us and ask to speak to Ellie, call in to chat to us or come along to one of our monthly volunteer induction sessions.
